Last big family gathering for 2008
Well we made it, the last big family gathering for 2008.
I am so glad its over with you’ve just no idea how happy I am right now; I’ve enough left overs in my refrigerator to last me all week which is great cause my payday is not til the 3rd, just gotta figure out how to get some gas now, I wonder if food can be made to use as gas?? LOL!
That would beAwesome wouldn’t it?? As I’ve mentioned before there is just always way too much food to eat all good fattening food you know, what else is there really? We had leftovers from Christmas which is plenty MORE than plenty we had leftover Ham, leftover Turkey wings & dressing ( stuffing), Gravy, more mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, leftover coleslaw, nasty packaged rolls that I didn’t even eat as they bake like bricks I told him they are NOT good but does Dear Dad listen to me? NooOOOOoooo!! There is more food but I’m so tired and stuffed and in need of a nap I can’t even think, oh and lets not forget all the desserts again, leftover zuchnni cake, (with nasty icing), pumpkin pie, now that was good, and leftover Cherry cheesecake, we make those up ahead of time and don’t put the Cherry pie filling on until the day of company, you can freeze these plain but if you freeze them with the cherry pie filling on, its just not good, makes the whole thing really soft and mushy like, don’t do it!!
So everyone goes home packed with leftover food now which is what my Dad wants to do, for everyone, feed us all, kill us with the good food, send it all home with us and then tomorrow tell me how fat we all are getting;
He won’t be hateful to his Grandchildren now or say these things in front of them, not yet anyway but he has no qualms about doing it and saying it to me, so as sure as I am sitting here I already know what the conversation is going to be in the morning, if I had money I’d bet on it; That’s my Dad and I know him like the back of my hand; So goodbye holiday feasts no more for awhile thankfully unless something happens, no more company no more big meals to plan and fix and all the stinking dishes good Lord! Goodbye 2008 see ya for the family Gatherings we are done! Thank God!!
